Introduction

From necessities such as additional health care to massages in the office, social benefits are taking a more important place in job ads. A poll we have recently on social media told us that a staggering 86% of folks would gladly skip the array of fancy perks for a fatter paycheck. It seems that when it comes to the crunch, cold hard cash trumps a plush bean bag chair in the office. However, there's a kaleidoscope of benefits out there that still makes employees' hearts flutter with joy.
While a solid income is undeniably tempting, the variety of desired workplace benefits is rich and constantly evolving. From the freedom to work from wherever to the pursuit of personal growth, it's clear that employees are seeking a more holistic approach to job satisfaction.

Let's take a look at what tantalises the taste buds of the Bulgarian workforce, aside from the sweet aroma of more money. The following list is based on our own views on the labour market as well as a survey we conducted earlier this year. Stay tuned, we'll share the full results soon.

Most desired social benefits according to candidates

Additional health insurance

Additional health insurance has become part of the bare minimum when it comes to social benefits. With the increasing focus on mental health, office meditation and yoga are becoming more and more popular. Companies that offer a mix of mind and body care win the hearts (and loyalty) of their workforce. Additional pension insurance is also becoming more widespread, showing the employer actually cares about their employees even after they leave the company.

Additional days paid leave

It turns out that the popularity of working from home (or from anywhere in the world) does not surpass the appeal of additional paid vacation days. What could be better than having more time for rest and recharge?

Lifelong learning

The thirst for knowledge is real, and employees are eager to lap up opportunities for professional development. Investing in your employees' growth? That's smart business.

Food Vouchers

Little things are actually of great importance. Food vouchers, especially in times of inflation, are also highly valued among employees.

Bonuses

People love it when their work is appreciated, especially when this is shown with an additional amount of money.

In conclusion

While a solid income is undeniably tempting, the variety of desired workplace benefits is rich and constantly evolving. From the freedom to work from wherever to the pursuit of personal growth, it's clear that employees are seeking a more holistic approach to job satisfaction.
