On Tuesday, March 25, in the funky and cozy atmosphere at Cafe No. 8, our team hosted its third networking event - the HR Cocktail. Our annual survey on candidates’ expectations and employers’ reality was the perfect opportunity to gather with fellow industry professionals and executives and share the results and engage in insightful discussions about the Bulgarian job market.

We’re immensely grateful to our partners this year, VEDA Accounting and eHR, for their contribution, support and industry insights - that’s what we call a recipe for success.

А massive thank you to all HR professionals and business leaders who joined us for a night of data, actionable advice and cheerful chatter - we’re happy we got to share the evening with you.

For everyone who couldn’t join us or for those of you who’d enjoy a recap, keep on reading.

nPloy’s Annual Survey: Candidates’ Expectations vs Employers’ Reality

We started off strong with a presentation by our CMO, Sofiya Lyateva. She presented the highlights of the survey results, focusing on the reasons why hiring is becoming harder than ever. The main character of the evening was, of course, the salary - it’s no surprise it’s the most important factor for candidates. We also discussed the rising demand for remote work among employees and what companies should be doing for their employer brand.

How Much Does it Cost to Build a Team

After our own updates,Maggie Stancheva (Co-founder) and Svetlana Yordanova (Executive Talent Scout) from VEDA Accounting took over the stage and joined Maria for a panel discussion on how much it costs to build a team. It turned out there are a lot of hidden costs when it comes to hiring and onboarding and a lot of additional costs companies underestimate - such as perks, legal fees, HR software systems, retention, ineffective recruitment process and employer branding.
