You may not know that LDC stands for Louis Dreyfus Company B.V., but you have undoubtedly bought from them. Founded in France back in 1851, nowadays the company is a global merchant, involved in agriculture, food processing, international shipping, and finance. And if you find it harder to grasp exactly how big this 170 year company is, let us tell you that LDC helps trade 11 billion tons of goods annually around the world, they farm around 30,000 hectares of citrus groves in Brazil, and are the world’s third-largest juice processor and merchant.


LDC set foot in the Bulgarian market in 2014. The company's primary focus was to provide internal accounting and financial services to the different companies of the group. In only a few years, the office grew its Shared Business Line and Center of Excellence with functions, such as IT, Freight, Credit Risk, Insurance, HR and many more.

Naturally, a company of such a huge scale employs a lot of people globally. As of today, more than 400 people work in Bulgaria, and the company keeps on expanding. In fact, the Sofia based office is one of the largest and most valued ones in the European, Middle East and African countries.

The partnership between LDC and nPloy dates back to 2022. Since then we have completed a few Recruitment Marketing and Employer Branding campaigns together. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and see how far we have come together.

The Problem

Growing the team in Bulgaria has been a strategic decision for LDC, powered by the fact that the collaboration between existing teams in Bulgaria has proven to be highly efficient. On another note, expanding the local team allows the company to streamline communication and further optimise project outcomes.

LDC were facing three challenges:

• Balancing technical skills with the right cultural fit for their collaborative environment.
• Despite Bulgaria’s strong talent pool, the competition for skilled professionals, particularly in senior positions, remains fierce.
• Seasonal fluctuations in candidate availability.

Focused on the task, the team tried various ways in order to get qualified candidates, including posting the job ads on different platforms and participating in mentorship programs in order to meet potential candidates in person and see if they’re interested in the open positions. And while such efforts cost a lot of time and money, they proved to be inefficient - they brought a large number of applications, but some of them lacked the specific skills or experience LDC were seeking.

The Results

Let’s see some numbers:

The first Employer Branding campaign ran in 2022. In September the same year we did a second one, and in July 2023 we had a Recruitment Marketing campaign focused on open positions only.

Both EB campaigns included a key visual, as well as benefits carousel and jobs carousel. We did not skip emails and push notifications, as well as organic posts.

The cost per click for all of the campaigns was below average for the selected audiences. And you know how the saying goes - the lower the CPC, the more engaged the audience.
